The tomb of Brion

Built by Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa (1906-1978), the tomb of Brion was ordered by Onorina Tomasi Brion, widow of Giuseppe Brion, founder of the electronics brand Brionvega. This mausoleum is next to the municipal cemetery of San Vito d’Altovole near Treviso in Italy. The relationship between this project with death and the afterlife gives it a mystical aura. Carlo Scarpa, killed in an accident just after finishing the construction, is buried in an adjoining wing of the tomb. He is thus and forever joined to the Brion family.
