Joyful moments lie ahead. From March 25 to 29, 2026, the ninth edition of The Unlimited Festival – and the seventeenth edition of an electronic music festival organised by blackcrows in Chamonix – will once again take over the summits and the Chamoniard nights to celebrate the arrival of spring skiing. This delightful prospect is the perfect occasion to introduce the listening selections of several artists who will contribute to the exquisite pleasures of this one-of-a-kind festival.
CAY: borders are a state of mind
Celebrating the union of multiple musical cultures, CAY is one of the artists featured in the next edition of The Unlimited Festival. He will offer festival-goers a glimpse of his new album, Farlight, set for release at the end of January 2026. Entirely composed in the mountains, it marks his first record on Habitat, the label run by the Italian duo Mind Against.

“Making music every day with the mountains as a backdrop is incredibly inspiring, especially since I’m used to being surrounded by the walls of a big city,” the Austrian-born artist from Vienna told us recently. While he first slid on skis at the age of three and has spent plenty of time in the mountains, this relationship with altitude had never truly influenced his work. “To be honest, it was last January in Tignes that I truly felt a deep connection with this environment for the first time,” he explained. This newfound inspiration blends with the multitude of influences he has embraced since childhood within a music-loving family. While his father introduced him to the Anatolian sounds of his homeland, his uncle opened the door to the latest discoveries in North American music. Embracing both cultures, CAY has always blended genres and refused to set any boundaries – whether behind the decks or in his own compositions.

Today, he channels this heritage into live performances where all his influences can genuinely converge, guided by the moment. “For me, it happens in phases. DJing is the origin, and live performances are what I’m doing now. I feel connected to both, but concerts have something more honest and exciting,” he told us. Before discovering this facet of him as a performer during the next edition of The Unlimited Festival – where his new compositions will resonate in a unique way in the heart of the Mont Blanc massif – CAY has shared with us a selection of tracks emblematic of his personal library. We wish you a delicate and inspiring listening experience before we meet again in Chamonix, sweating on the dance floors to the warm, velvety sounds of this extraordinary artist.
